Terms of Sale

1. Who we are

These terms apply to sales by GEORGE TANNER (SHALFORD) LIMITED (“we”, “us”, “our”), based at Hill House, Shalford, Braintree, Essex, CM7 5HB.

2. Orders

Orders may be placed by email or other agreed channel. An order becomes binding only when we confirm acceptance in writing (including email). We may decline an order where stock, seasonality or credit status requires it.

3. Prices

Prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. We may adjust prices for future orders to reflect market or seasonal changes; confirmed orders honour the agreed price.

4. Payment

Payment terms are as stated on our quotation or invoice. Unless credit terms are agreed in writing, payment is due before or on collection/delivery. We reserve the right to suspend supply where invoices are overdue.

5. Delivery and collection

Delivery or collection arrangements are agreed per order. Risk in the goods passes on collection or on delivery to the address you nominate. See also our Delivery & Collection page.

6. Quality and complaints

Produce is perishable and natural variation is expected. Please inspect goods on receipt and notify us of any shortfall or quality concern within 24 hours, with photos where possible, so we can resolve the matter promptly.

7. Returns

Because of the nature of fresh produce, returns are limited. Please refer to our Returns & Refunds policy.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our liability for any claim arising from a supply is limited to the price paid for the goods in question.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
